Fab Fox was born Fabian Blochberger, the son of farmers and entrepreneurs in Krumbach in the Bucklige Welt in Lower Austria, around an hour’s drive south of Vienna.

From someone who set out

to enchant the world

Like many of his friends and classmates, he tried his hand at soccer – but Fabian was neither particularly enthusiastic nor particularly talented when it comes to competing for the football. What he did love from an early age, even at primary school, was magic. A first simple magic box under the Christmas tree was to be the start of a magician’s career …

Fabian practised and practised for hours until he mastered more and more tricks, astounded his classmates and teachers at school performances and performed at his first local events. As a 13-year-old, Fabian began travelling to Vienna twice a week on his own by train to take additional acting lessons. In the meantime, the dream of a career as a magician and entertainer on the big stages had become more and more concrete.

Fabian finished school with his A-levels – and instead of going to university or starting a conventional job, Fabian became Fab Fox. He decided to follow his big dream and make his way as a professional magician, his great role models at the beginning: Harry Houdini and David Copperfield.

The special talent of the young magician from Lower Austria was recognised very early on by a number of large companies, who hired Fab Fox for exclusive corporate events, including Hilton Hotels, Raiffeisen Bank, Coca-Cola and Red Bull. Fab Fox made a name for himself in professional circles with sell-out magic dinner shows – at the age of just 20.

But Fab Fox dreamed further, he dreamed bigger: he dreamed of staging and rethinking magic shows in a new, more modern, more creative, more spectacular way. No more parade of numbers, but stories told through, with magic tricks as integrated storytelling elements, just like the songs in the most successful musicals or the most enchanting Disney films. Plus acrobatics and pyrotechnics like in Las Vegas, plus light and sound effects like in the stadium productions of global pop and rock stars.

Fab Fox wanted to combine all these influences in his shows. In 2022, at the age of 22, he began conceptualising and planning FABULOUS, a magic show in a new dimension. It was to combine everything that fascinated Fab Fox. Once again, it all began with a dream that seemed distant and unattainable, with organisational and financial challenges on a whole new scale. Fab Fox was ridiculed. Nobody believed the young artist was capable of realising such a project.

But once again Fab Fox made a dream come true. On 24 February 2023, FABULOUS celebrated its debut, the show went on tour and became a sensational success: sold-out halls throughout Austria, more than 15,000 enthusiastic fans. FABULOUS made Fab Fox the youngest Austrian solo artist ever to sell out the Wiener Stadthalle.

The next milestone came in October 2023: Fab Fox conquered one of Vienna’s most traditional landmarks. In Austria’s first public magic stunt, he had to free himself from a burning box at a height of 30 metres in front of the historic Schönbrunn Palace – a highly dangerous, highly spectacular feat and another resounding success. Fab Fox amazed thousands of fans live on site, and the country’s most popular TV stations, print and online media reported extensively.

After the sensational success of his first tour, the sold-out Wiener Stadthalle and the spectacular show event in front of Schönbrunn Palace, the next big step in Fab Fox’s career followed in April 2024: on his 24th birthday, he signed a contract with Austria’s most important concert and event organiser, Barracuda Music.

‘Barracuda Music’ is the company behind the country’s most successful festivals – from Nova Rock to FM4 Frequency – and behind the most spectacular stadium shows from Ed Sheeran to Seiler & Speer.

‘Barracuda’ mastermind Ewald Tatar: ’FAB FOX is at the beginning of a long magical journey to the limits of what is possible. Its ability to transcend the limits of imagination and amaze people has inspired me from the very beginning. We want to help FAB FOX present its magical talent to an even wider audience. Together we will create unforgettable moments and amaze the world.’
